Notes: The wine comes entirely from the Monte Bello estate, where all our chardonnay and bordeaux varietals are grown. Between 1300 and 2000 feet of elevation is the "lower" vineyard, where cabernet was first planted in the late 1800s. The "middle" (2100' - 2400') includes fifty-five-year-old vines. The "upper" vineyard (2500' - 2660') is home to a number of thirty-three-year-old plantings, and to the Monte Bello Winery, built in 1886. WE:93
